Anandabazar Patrika (Bengali : আনন্দবাজার) is the largest circulated newspaper in Bengali. Not only this, it is the most favorite newspaper for the Bengali. It is a daily newspaper published from Kolkata, Delhi and Mumbai.
This paper was founded in 1922 by its inaugural editor Prafulla Kumar Sarkar, the founder proprietor of the newspaper was Suresh Chandra Majumder.
Presently, Anandabazar Patrika is edited by Aveek Sarker. Mostly the paper was maintained from kolkata Office. The head Office of Anandabazar is at Dharmotala in Kolkata, West Bengal.
Day by day the newspapers circulation is growing high. Now it’s total circulation is more than 13 lac. Anandabazar Patrika has also online edition, which very popular among the Bengali community all over the world. Beside this newspaper Aajkal also a popular Bangla daily of India.
According to the Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC) it has a circulation of 13 lac copies per day. It is the largest circulated single-edition, regional language newspaper in India. According to Indian Readership Survey (IRS) 2012, it is the most widely read Bengali newspaper in India with a readership of 7 Crores. Thus making Anandabazar Patrika as the top Bengali newspaper in India by readership.
Other than Kolkata, it is also printed from various other towns in West Bengal. From the begaining Anandabazar Group stared other supplements are Monthly, fortnightly and weekly magazines.
